How to Perform puja on Akshaya Tritiya (Vidhi And Mantras)

Akshaya Tritiya is one of the most holy and auspicious occasions for the Hindus all over the world. Akshaya Tritiya is also called Akha Teej and it is celebrated during the Tritiya (the third day) of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Vishakha. When the muhurat of Akshaya Tritiya falls on Rohini Nakshatra, it is considered to be all the more auspicious. The word “Akshaya” can be translated to something that can never be destroyed or that can never diminish.

For the same reason, any kind of Dana, Punya, Japa and Yagnya done on this day will give immense benefits. The blessings and grace derived by these good deeds can never dwindle and will only grow with time.

It is said that even Lord Kubera came to be rich and was instated as the treasurer of the gods only after he worshipped Goddess Lakshmi on the Akshaya Tritiya day. As mere mortals, we too can pray and perform poojas on the holy day to gain blessings of health and wealth. With this in mind, we have listed the ways to perform a simple pooja on Akshaya Tritiya day. Perform this pooja to gain wealth, success and power. This pooja will help to fill your house with prosperity and happiness. This pooja invokes many gods. On this day, Lord Ganesha is believed to bless us with immense knowledge, wisdom and courage to perform the deeds that we need to do.

Lord Shiva is known to shower your family with saubhagya and marital bliss. Goddess Lakshmi is known to remove your financial troubles and also fill your home with righteous wealth. Lord Sri Krishna is believed to help you attain peace and moksha.

The day of Akshaya Tritiya is already so auspicious that you may start any new venture without checking for any muhurtams (holy period). It is believed that if we perform this pooja before starting anything new on Akshaya Tritiya, we will be highly benefited.

Vidhi To Perform The Pooja

Items Required

Idols of Lord Maha Vishnu and Ganapati

Sandalwood paste

Flowers

Tulsi leaves

Sesame seeds

Rice

Chana dal

Sweets made with milk

You must get up early in the morning. Clean the pooja room well. Place an idol of Lord Maha Vishnu and Ganapati. Offer the idols Sandalwood paste and flowers. Worship Lord Ganesha with Mantras dedicated to him.

Then, we must offer Lord Maha Vishnu the sesame seeds and prasad made with rice, chana dal and other sweets. Vishnu Sahasranaama and other mantras, as given below, must be chanted to please the Lord. After the pooja, the Prasad may be distributed among friends and family.

After the pooja, you may choose to donate food or money to brahmins, and the poor and needy.

Goddess Parvati is worshipped by many by offering to her milk, wheat, chana dal, clothes, etc. The kalash is filled with water.

There are many of them who also feed the cows with roti and green grass.

Chant the following while offering the sandalwood paste.

“Yam Karothi thruthiyayaam Krishnam Chandanam Bhushitam Vaishakhasyasthithe Pakshe Sayathyachyutha Mandiram”

Invoke Lord Ganapati with the following Mantras.

“Om Gam Ganapathaye Namaha” “Vakratunda Mahakaya Suryakoti Samaprabha Nirvighnam Kurume Deva Sarvakaryeshu Sarvada”

Chant the following when performing acts of charity.

“Sri parameshwara preethyartha muda kumbhadaanoktha phala vaapyartham brahmana yodakumbha daanam karishye thadanga kalasha pujyadhikam cha karishye”.

Invoke Goddess Mahalakshmi for wealth and prosperity (Maha Lakshmi Gayatri Mantra)

“Om Shree Maha Lakshmyai Cha Vidmahe Vishnu Patnayai Cha Dheemahi Tanno Lakshmi Prachodayat Om”

Chant the following Kubera mantra to receive Artha labha

“Kuberaa Twam Danadeesam Gruha Te Kamala Sithta Tam Devem Prehayasu Twam Madgruge te namo Namah”
