Bhumi Pujan
The earth is revered as a Mother Goddess and considered a sacred element in Hinduism. Bhoomi Pooja is an important ritual devoted to the earth. To seek the blessings of mother earth, the land is worshiped before the start of construction work. Even farmers do a Bhoomi Pooja before tilling the land.
Hindu calender months of Kartik, Margshirish, Shravan and Paush are the most favourable for the Bhoomi Pooja. Various negative and positive factors are considered while deciding on the most auspicious time of Bhumi Puja.
The most auspicious days for Bhoomi Pooja are Monday and Thursday while Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday are not recommended. Also it is noteworthy that Bhoomi Pooja can not be performed during:

- Adhik month
- Hadpaksha
- Divaskarma
- Morning time
- Shraadh Paksha
