Out of the 16 Sanskaars in Hindu religion, Jaat Karam Sanskar is the fourth sanskaar. It is performed on the same day when the child takes birth. Ghee and honey is taken by the child in the optimal quantity i.e., in the ratio 1:4. Either with the thin stick of gold or thin neem stem, “OM” is written on the tongue of newly born child. This important Sanskaar is believed to remove many impurities in a new born which is due to spending nine months in the womb of the mother.
According to religious scriptures, this prominent Sanskaar helps a new-born attain robust physique as he/she grows up.
